Immanuel Baptist Church was planted in 1964 to reach Swansee Manor and the Lakes subdivisions that were being built. The work and sacrifice of generations of believers has put us in great position to continue reaching these neighborhoods as the other communities that have grown around us over the last 60 years.
At Immanuel we like to say that “We are a gospel Community that Shares Hope, Shapes Believers, and Serves Christ Together.
Sharing Hope is about the gospel. The only meaningful hope for us is the redeeming work of Christ. The clear message of God is that God loves us and died for us. Through faith in that God, we have access to the Holy Spirit in this life and ultimate redemption in the life to come.
Shaping Believers is about what we do after we place our faith in Christ. God loves as we are, but he calls us to become more like Himself every day. Church is a place where we can grow decision by decision to become who God has called us to be. It’s a long hard process and we need our brothers and sisters in Christ to walk that path with integrity.
Serving Christ together is about how we live our lives going forward. Every person is created in God’s image and given by God gifts. The gifts he gives us make us unique and we are called to find our unique place in the church. As we all find our place to serve, the church becomes healthy. A healthy church is a place where people are safe to Share, Shape and Serve as the Lord directs them.
All of this is done in our little family church. We are excited to be a multigenerational church. You will find grandparents, parents, singles, and children in our church. We believe that this multigenerational nature allows us to come alongside all kinds of people in all kinds of life situations.
If you are looking for a place where you will be known, loved, and can grow as God calls, we would love to see you on a Sunday morning.
